The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Michigan opened its first metro-Detroit office in Livonia in 1999 and its Grand Rapids office in 2000. Since that time, the Foundation has made tremendous in-roads within the Michigan community, resulting in incredible growth in wishes and increased staff to accommodate this.
“The effect that Make-A-Wish has on these children and their families is truly amazing,” said Susan Lerch, president and CEO of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Michigan. “As we strive to enhance that experience, we have strategically chosen a new office location that will allow us to provide better program services to the children and families we serve, in turn offering them a more fulfilling experience.”
The new Make-A-Wish offices will be closer to the Foundation’s top two referral sources in Michigan: Mott Children’s Hospital at U of M and DeVos Children's Hospital.
Celebrating more than 20 years of making magic, the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Michigan is a chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of America, the largest wish-granting charity in the world. Since 1984, the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Michigan has granted more than 4,400 wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength, and joy. The Michigan chapter anticipates granting nearly 400 wishes this year and has offices in Ann Arbor, Lansing, and Grand Rapids, with more than 80 percent of expenditures going toward program services.
